Content Description
The collection is composed of boxes of Labor History Association papers and mixed media. They contain general information from Joan Cavanagh’s work as Archivist and Director of the Association from 2001 to 2017, materials used in the Winchester Workers project to research, write, and construct the exhibit, “Our Community at Winchester: An Elm City Story,” and to research and write the book, Our Community at Winchester: The City and Its Workers at New Haven’s Gun Factory” (2020). Also included are cds and a hard drive with the oral history interviews of retired workers at Winchester, a hard drive with the exhibit files as well as several cds with photographs and videos of public events held by the organization. Selections from these interviews were used for the exhibit and book.
